[RC] fly predators - Sheila_LarsenI have used the fly predators in the past and they do work well. I used the company Arbico. They also have a soil nematode that works well going after maggots if the soil remains moist. The following is a little gross but I compost my horse manure and cover it with a tarp and usually don't have maggots in it. I don't know what happened but one day I lifted the tarp and the pile was so fully of maggots that it looked alive. Interesting from a biological point of view but a little creepy. I had some of the soil nematodes and put them on the pile. A couple of days later I lifted the pile and nothing was there, took a shovel to see if the maggots were deeper - nothing there. I can guarantee if those maggots had hatched during that time I would have known it. Just another suggestion. Sheila A lovely horse is always an experience.... It is an emotional experience of the kind that is spoiled by words. ~Beryl Markham =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
