Re: [RC] In the publics eye? - Skyla Stewart - D'Arcy Demianoff-Thompson

All the more reason to stay politically active within your communities to let "your voice" be heard.  Stand up for what you believe in and make it happen!  What I see as a primary problem for horse owners.  At the end of the day we don't have much energy to go one more step and attend the meetings that go until 10 / 11 pm at night.  I know for myself that is about two hours PAST my bedtime.  However, this year, I am going to take short naps in the afternoons of nighttime meetings.  I honestly feel it is one of the most important things that we, as horse owners, can do to save our industry!

I would suspect that the vast majority of people in the USA are non-riders who would think just that.  And I'm finding that the majority with an agenda, however ridiculous or impractical, have the power to force politicians to make rules that control the rest of us.  It's really scary....

One of the biggest problems is that much of the public (including some other horse owners) think it’s abuse to make a horse trot down the trail and sweat, and that if the horses are lean & fit as opposed to fat & sassy, that they’re being starved.
