Lyric (as usual) has a new problem that needs solving. I had Lyric (AKA The Princess) allergy tested and did I get a shock. She is allergic to over 20 different trees, grasses, grains, fungi, etc. Specifically she is allergic to Bermuda, brome, Johnson grass, ragweed, Lamb's quarters, sage, Russian thistle, juniper, eucalyptus ( Oh, I am so in trouble, we of the land of towering euks), Arizona cypress, 7 different fungi, molasses, oats, rice bran, jute and sisal, stable fly and barley pollen. She is also sensitive to oak (and we have at least 50 on our property), fire bush, corn, cedar shavings and wheat pollen. So, help, what the heck can I feed the Princess now? My vet suggested I start feeding her Timothy, at $20 a bale laughed and stated the obvious," she is a princess, isn't she?" That said Lyric is fine with beet pulp but, what can I feed her at rides when she hits the wall at the 3rd vet check? As I am unwilling to remove my oak trees due to environmental and legal issues (they are protected and beautiful), has anyone had experience with the de-sensation shots? Hope this gets all you fifty folks something constructive to work on. Thank you in advance for your advice and suggestions.
