Re: [RC] Shoes for the Rider - Tx TriggerBefore I started riding in Terrains, I wore the Roper "Horseshoes" with great success. But, they are very smooth on the bottom, so if you are one to get off and walk on the trail, they may not have enough traction for some situations. They gave my ankles the support I needed, and held up very well. I have also done the good trail running shoe in the past. Find a GOOD running store, that helps you fit the shoe correctly to your foot. Some will have a treadmill, or will have you walk and jog up and down the side walk, to watch your foot fall, and help you with the shoe to meet your needs. And also, some of the other boot makers, are coming out with Terrain type shoes. You might go check out your local Western wear store, and see if they have something new that you have not tried. While sore feet can be the shoe issue, it is also as you know, stirrup issues, and how one rides issues. I personally can not ride in the really wide stirrups where my toes are also on the stirrup. They start to hurt and fall asleep very quickly. So, I have to have a stirrup that just supports the ball of my foot, but nothing beyond. My very favorite stirrups are those my by Jerry Stoner, for his Stonewall Saddles. Just have to find what works for you.
