I have an old pair of Roper's that I love, but that style is no longer being made, and they are getting ready to kick the bucket! I bought a pair of winter hiking boots from LL Bean that I love a lot and my toes never got cold this winter, but they don't make that style in a non-thinsulated boot. I looked at the Ariat Dumas, but I live in the sandy desert of Northern Nevada, and the sand would get into the shoes thru the mesh. I know this because I had a pair of mesh sneakers I only wore twice because they filled with sand when I would walk from my house to the car. So anyone with ideas and opinions, please post to the group, please.
