Re: [RC] cougars - D'Arcy Demianoff-Thompson

Hence the reason that all of my cats and dogs and now a lame chicken are in my house at night!  Yes, you read that right, a lame chicken!  She is on her last days and lives in my bathroom on the tile floor!  She is loving her final days!  :(  Otherwise the other chickens were going to peck her to death.  Even though the 'neighborhood mountain lion' can not get into their enclosure~  She would not have been a draw for them to be in jeopardy.  As far as the horses are concerned...no, I am not bringing 19 horses into my house.  Although I did think about it the other night!  LOL!  With them being in a big herd I don't think they are too much at risk.  Scary stuff though - mountain lions, cougars, bears, and all that stuff and a bag of chips!

Subject: [RC] cougars

In our neighborhood, dogs have been known  to disappear after a noisy night when we suspect a cougar is on the prowl. One neighbor had seen the cougar in the back of his property, next day the dog is gone. My husband has seen a home security video of a wildly barking Rottwieller on a deck, then the cougar comes into view, grabs the dog and takes him away. Yes, I think roofs are in order for the dog kennel.

I know they are big and the dogs are little but it would seem to me that cats don't like dogs and would stay away from the kennel.
