Have you considered getting a llama? The
protective abilities of donkeys have been praised, but in the Bitterroot sheep
ranchers claim llamas are better. Having one in a horse pasture also has
the advantage that the horses quickly get llama broken. For some reason,
the sight and/or smell of llamas sends most horses up the
wall.
