Re: [RC] Core Temps ( Won't hurt?) - Truman PrevattThat's not new. Gayle Ecker gave a wonder discussion of this at the AERC convention in the early 90's.Truman John Teeter wrote: There were discussions in MAS (primarily focused on the thoughts of Peter Toft) about the role that the core body temp, ambient temp/humidity, and cooling ability of the horse. Thoughts being that there may be situations where the ambient context of a competition may drastically alter the possible competitive nature of an event (i.e. in some places you just can't go as fast b/c the horse is not capable of cooling themselves effectively in those contexts). The core body temp starts to go up and metabolic distress follows. -- “Since when have we Americans been expected to bow submissively to authority and speak with awe and reverence to those who represent us?” Justice William O.
