Re: [RC] Won't hurt? - rides2farI still have some of the "pink stuff from some place like Jeffers" and was> wondering is it really not advised to use the stuff for endurance? It would be better to use nothing. Those are made for situations like a foal who has scours. They become acidic, as do sprinting horses, wheras endurance horses go the other direction and suffer from alkalosis. So, giving them those electrolytes is like trying to put out a fire with gasoline for us. OK, you guys who *really* understand the complicated stuff, feel free to tear that apart...but that's the "simple man's translation" that I finally came up with after lots of reading. I don't do anything impressive, use the home made lytes, which is even cheaper than that stuff. I know you're in Florida and *everybody* uses electrolytes. John's in Idaho. It's hard for them to understand how hard it would be to give nothing when you see everyone else dosing. They don't carry sponges either...such regional differences. :-) Angie =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
