RE: [RC] OT - passport to drive to Canada?? - Karen StandeferIn Nov 2003 my son and I were detained for 3 hours at the Canada side (I-5 going into Vancouver BC) of the terminal (going INTO Canada) when we only had our US Driver's License. Best Check with the Canadian officials as well as the US. They did let us through, eventually. But, they told us that they wouldn't again. No, a passport is not necessary for driving across the border until January 2008. It IS necessary for flying across the border (either side).
