Re: [RC] Who uses BC2A's? - Beth WalkerFYI -- there is an article on the SmartPak Equine site about the effectiveness of various types of supplements in horses:http://www.smartpakequine.com/Articles.aspx? ArticleName=performanceboosters The section on BCAA's is short, and says basically that there have been very few studies done, and the ones performed were contradictory . One study found a slight benefit, but the study didn't account for training effect which might have also explained the results. A couple of others found no effect. Studies were done in 1989 and 2000, so there might be something more recent around. Reading the article brought out the point that the same supplement can work differently in humans, dogs and/or horses. (See the section on creatine supplementation) On Mar 19, 2007, at 4:54 PM, Lauren Horn wrote: I started using them on my horse only because I saw and felt what it was doing for me. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
