That really doesn’t work on horses that have already been trained to
race. They may calm down on conditioning rides and trail rides, but come
competition day, you’ll be right back on your fire breathing dragon.

If this was my horse I would not put *more* bit
in her mouth. I would make long, slow trail rides fun for her.
About three months of this and then three more months of slow rides in a
crowd, ie club rides, CTR etc. Then I would leg her up and go do a 50 or
more. She needs to be retrained not restrained. Patty
