Re: [RC] horse slaughter vs vegitarianism - Barbara McCraryI grew up on a poultry farm, so chickens are very familiar to me. When I was in 4-H, among other projects I had a small flock of laying hens. I called my favorite Emily, and she was a character. At feeding time, Emily was the first one to come from the fenced yard into the house. The first thing she would do was come to me and squat with her wings outspread, a sign of submission in chickens. At that time I would stroke her head and pet her...then she would go to the feed. I like chickens...both as animals and as food. Growing up on a farm or ranch, one learns to accept both aspects of the animal world without much emotional grief.Barbara ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tx Trigger" <txtrigger@xxxxxxxxx> To: "Ridecamp" <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, March 15, 2007 9:48 PM Subject: [RC] horse slaughter vs vegitarianism Shoot, I even had chickens that had really cool personalities and often acted more like a "pet" than an animal most think of for food. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
