Many rescue groups purchase the animals from slaughter houses to prevent
them from taking the horrifying trip so they can be euthanized humanly.

Great points made, Karen.

One thing that's always kinda baffled me - several
times I've read about a rescue group practically
depleting their funds treating a severely ill or
injured horse. As someone who thinks a kind euthanasia
can be the greatest gift of all, I wonder why rescue
groups aren't more 'comfortable' with doing it.
