Re: [RC] [RC] Hind End confirmation - Laney HumphreyYears ago I was riding a friend's second horse. We rode both days ever weekend for years and it was always apparent that the two horses were not matched unless his horse cantered. Eventually we both got heart rate monitors and we decided to "study" the horses. Turned out that "my" horse was really efficient at the trot (i.e., low heart rate) while his horse's heart rate went up significantly when he was made to trot as fast as mine. But, if he was allowed to canter, his heart rate dropped and stayed right in the same range as my horse's when he was trotting. To us the obvious conclusion was that his horse was more efficient cantering and mine at trotting.Laney rides2far@xxxxxxxx wrote: big rears and powerful trots - but the canter was just not goodHow do the canters compare?
