Re: [RC] [RC] Raffles breeding and endurance - Laney HumphreyGood point, Dawn. Presumably the degree of "blood" increases with more lines back to the same horse.Laney Dawn Carrie wrote: One or two crosses to Raffles probably doesn't mean much...but if a horse goes back to him many times, then one starts adding up the amount of "Raffles blood" in the horse in question. Quite a few crosses can mean that the horse has a good percentage of Raffles. He was pretty prepotent, if I remember correctly. Of course, one would need to also consider the other horses in the pedigree. But I am a huge fan of heavily Raffles-bred horses...we just lost our 31 yr old gelding last fall to a freak accident, and he was still going strong. He was very heavy Raffles (name was HH Rafazon, if anyone is interested in looking him up). I would have loved to have owned him when he was younger...we didn't get him till he was 23. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
