Re: [RC] my husband and his big rig - Mike LewisI drove around in a $7000, 17 year old (when I sold it) F-350 diesel. Would have been fine except for the hills and the fact that I do more cross-USA driving than many (military.) Nothing wrong with old trucks... I actually prefer its looks to the new pickup I drive now. Definitely preferred the payment on the old truck to the payment on the new one!!! :-) --- Diane Trefethen <tref@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: Mike Lewis wrote:New pickups cost more than that! I heard that some F-550s sticker for more than $80,000. Before spending that kind of money on a pickup,I'dmake up my mind that it was time to bail out of pickups and into atruckthat'll do the job better. $40k for a truck that'll last 20 years, won't strain on hills, and probably won't have many service issues... heheheheheh... Soundsnice. $80K? $40K? Youse guys must be made of money. My truck is a 3/4 ton, 4wd Silverado and cost me, used, about $3600. If it doesn't last at least 10 years, I'll feel rooked. So, I plan to buy a used Toyota Tundra around 2014, one that has all BED in back. But then, I'm a tightwad and expect a TRUCK to WORK. :) =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
