I hadn't thought of it before, but I can't imagine less than 50,000 to 100,000 acres."The 2 day LD/50 mile each day New Year's ride here in the CT region near Houston was on 1800 acres. Ride managers do the best they can with what's available. It was a fun ride - well managed with good food - and even with the 2 inches of rain the night before the ride had a very high completion rate. One hazard not often seen was pot-bellied pigs on one of the farms we passed through. Some horses thought they were pretty strange...
