We had
a similar situation; the first foal of our first stallion, Tingle King. We just
couldn't decide on a name. We had a baby (human) at the time nicknamed little
bits.
One day we were driving up the road with a carriage and pair and
the filly went tearing across her pasture, slid through a 5 strand high tensile
fence, crossed the road in front of us, turned around and reversed the
procedure- unhurt. My husband said "There goes Tingle Bits".
Today is Tingle Bits' 20th birthday. She's done 'most every thing in her
life that a horse can and is packing around my blind paraplegic husband these
days. Libby

horses
Many years ago, we had a new filly born on
our ranch. She went unnamed for about 3 months. One day I was
riding the last day of a 5-day ride. I was trotting along briskly on a
road across a desert basin, when suddenly a jackrabbit dashed across in front
of me. Instantly, my mind created a scenario, a collection of images
that went like this: rabbit..speed..bird..
hawk (fast bird)...Ladyhawke (my favorite
movie), and there was her name. I'm convinced it was a message sent to
me.
