Bad home, abused, etc......I think a new name can be a fresh start.... I can relate to both sides.. My mare was born after the '92 earthquake in California, hence: Cresmont's Little Shaker, barn name: SHAKER. I bought her at age 9. She lives up to her name, or I could say her name has given her something to live up to? I did think about changing her name last year after she kicked me: Something to the tune of "ALPO" .... LOL!! (and NO, I never once thought about getting rid of her after the "kick" - she taught me that she IS a horse)
