In the beginning, I rode with a black velvet hunt helmet. One time on a Nevada desert ride, I very nearly passed out from retained heat on my head.

And you didn't find that "hot" was too hot? Without any ventilation? Except for that, they sound perfect.

Yes, they are very hot, no ventilation, but also very light weight and
don't look huge on your head.
