There is an article in MAR Equus that described a gelding with a raised bump 
on his forehead.  It was suspected he had a skull fracture.  After much vet 
treatment, it turned out to be a very aggressive cancer.  Sad story.  But 
the way you describe the bump on the front of Kaboot's  skull reminded me of 
this article.  I pray your outcome is different.
