RE: [RC] Epics rubs - Terry BanisterIf you just bought the boots a few weeks ago, the gaiters should be the newer softer design.I just completed the 65 with these boots/gaiters, and did not have any rubbing. Vet wrapping should not be necessary, it was just a suggestion for temporary solution/testing. How many horses had the rub marks? How long have the horses been barefoot? Are you using boots for every trail ride, or alternating with some barefooting? Is every training ride more than 10 miles? How tight are the gaiters? These are questions that come to my mind because the answers would affect the booting protocol. In my horse's case, we do 20-mile (or less) training rides barefoot, and only use boots for competition and multi-day riding. But I only do 20-milers every couple of weeks, and shorter rides in between. Perhaps someone else would have a better answer for you.
