RE: [RC] [RC] [RC] Epics rubs - Terry BanisterYes, I too bumped down from the 100 to the 65. The hardest part of the ride was getting out of the sleeping bag! We finished 13th with stock Easyboot Bares and no rubs. New-style rolled-top gaiters.Congratulations on saving the day for Colton and his family. You accomplished something better than completing the 100. Hope you took some good pictures! Can't wait to show my boss and co-workers who thought I was crazy to be out there this past weekend, how even a 6 year old, and some 70-year-old people did it too. My guess with the Epic fetlock rubs Karla is talking about may be from one of the gaiter designs last year, that was made with stiffer neoprene and heavy scalloped stitching at the top edge to increase durability. This was the only design that I experienced rubbing. My suggestion would be to change out the gaiters to the newer, softer rolled-top ones. Or, if the gaiters were too tight, perhaps the horse had a heat/neoprene reaction? We don't want any callousing in that area, so perhaps after the hair grows back, she may need to vet wrap for longer rides.
