Re: [RC] kids and horses - Sisu West Ranch"...Is it the correct age - it may be a little low NATRC has a 10 year old and at least one state 4H has 9 years old for the equestrian program as the min - but 8 has worked for us. ...." Of course 8 has worked for you. No age restriction in UMECRA has also worked for UMECRA, so it follows that if no age restriction works in one area of the country, a higher age will work in another area. The bottom line is that with very few exceptions, if any, the judgement of distance riding parents as to how, and when their kids should ride is very good. Endurance riders are not a cross section of the USA, I suspect that we are more intellegent, educated, and aware of life's risks than the average parent. We certainly are better parents than those who get hauled into court for child endangerment.\ Ed Ed & Wendy Hauser 2994 Mittower Road Victor, MT 59875 (406) 642-9640 ranch@xxxxxxxxxxx =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
