This got me to thinking that probably anyone who
takes a child on an endurance ride (or perhaps any horseback ride) or anyone who
sponsors a junior should probably have a horse that is okay ponying another
horse...as accidents do happen....and you never know when you might have to pony
out the second horse with a disabled rider. Twice my daugther got really
bad mirgane headaches while riding (once at Camp Far West), and I had to pony
her horse so she could concentrate on just holding on....and once I ponied out a
strange horse where the rider had a head injury....
It's also something any well trained saddle horse
should be able to to do...
