[RC] Statistics on young AERC members riding - Michael Maul

For what it's worth - here's some statistics that I did on AERC members under 8 riding in 2005 for the BoD discussion on this topic.

The updated info is below. The youngest rider - DOB - 10/13/2001 - did 2 days of the Ft. Schelborne Pioneer ride. The total number of rides was 59 done by 12 riders under 8 out of 28 possible AERC member under 8.

The 50 and Pioneer completion rate was 83% for 6 rides and the completion rate for the 53 LD rides was 88.7%. The adult completion rate is 82.8% and 86.3% respectively.

Just to give some perspective to the issue of AERC members under 8
competing, in the 2005 ride season, the following members under 8 are
listed by region

Tot  28        12

The 12 competing riders did a total of 59 rides with a completion ratio
of 90%.  Of the 59 rides - 53(90%) were LD and 6 were either Pioneer or
50s.  The completion rate for the 50's was 83%.

The one SE under 8 rider did only the GERA fund raiser.  I don't know
whether this was SERA sanctioned.
