RE: [RC] [RC] simple boots - Terry BanisterThey appear to be very similar to Boa Boots. I have done a few 50s in the Boas and the Old Macs, as have other people, but they are better for slower, shorter rides. Since they come up over the hairline, there is more chance of silt/sand coming in over the top and settling at the hairline to rub. If the boots are not on for more than 15-25 miles, or the trail is not soft, they could be fine. You may want to get some Boa Boot gaiters to help keep debris out. Even if you try a set of these boots and they aren't the ultimate answer, they can still be used for training rides and spare tires.So try them out and let everyone know what your experience was.
