RE: [RC] Nutrition - Bob MorrisTitle: MessageUnless
you are really pushing in competition, all you need to feed the horse is
unlimited good forage, some electrolytes such as loose salt and plenty of good
clean water. Any one who believes that all the advertises additives are
necessary is only fooling themselves and depleting their
purse.
Unless
you provide the forage, water and salt, you are starting off at a deficit. These
are the essentials. If after a period of competition you find a necessity for
more energy, the addition of a bit of grain will help. All the special "go
juice" additives are not necessary unless your forage has a definite deficiency
such as selenium in the NW and some other regions. Be good to your horse and
provide the basics, forget the frills and have fun.
