[RC] LBL ride - rides2farone of the reasons I never rode htere was that I heard it was a party camp ground and that people were drunken fools in the camp ground. I've been to quite a few endurance rides there and never got that feeling *at all*. Lots of families. Horses seemed to be fairly well cared for, but there was some pretty awful equitation. I got a real show when a short woman who had obviously no experience riding and must have weighed 250 lbs. was being pushed/hoisted/shoved up onto a poor horse by about 3 other family members. I can't figure out why some of these people are still alive. If I did some of the things they do I'd be dead 10 times over. Some horses are *so forgiving, and they seem to end up with the very people who need them.. The biggest challenge for me was that there were quite a few teams of mules pulling wagons. The trails there are wide enough for the mules and that can be a pretty good surprise for the horses rounding a turn! In contrast to the party camp reputation..that there was a large Cowboy Church service there on Sunday morning.
