I believe I've said this before: You
can allow someone to make you feel like a second-class citizen, or not.
It's up to you.
I've been hearing this same old remark since
at least 1986, when we put on our 100 mile ride, with both FEI and AERC
divisions. The spouse of the winner of the AERC division complained
about how we gave all the preference and notoriety to the FEI riders. I
surely didn't see it that way. Yes, we had a "parade" of FEI finishers, as
is still done, but we also had a separate awards program for the AERC
riders. You just have to decide whether you want to be a victim, that's
all. And if you don't let someone make you a victim, then you aren't
one.
I am with you about being alarmed at the nastiness that has developed in
the LD BC thread.
This topic has been discussed on here many times previously...but usually
a little less "nasty". Sure tends to make those of us who have been
riding LD's feel like second class citizens.
Tracey (who will be moving up to "real" endurance for those that care as
I will be doing my first 50 in March or April...if that's okay with the "real
riders")
