Re: [RC] Endurance & Dressage- - Laney Humphrey

An interesting idea Christina. I assume that, like dressage, the statistics for each level would be kept separately so that LD/3rd level mileage wouldn't be joined with 50mile/4th level or higher?

I would like to make a comparison of dressage & endurance riding... it isn't like the dressage community considers training level /not to/ be dressage or not /_'real _/' dressage. The lower levels of dressage are valued as the building of a foundation. Why can't endurance be looked at in the same light?
Dressage=
Intro
Training
First Level
Second Level
Third Level
Fourth Level
and then the FEI levels
Prix St. George
Intermediate I
Intermediate II
Grand Prix
_*'Taste' Rides of 5 miles*_ = Intro Level (see if you like it, expose horse and rider to new things)
*_12 mile rides_* = Training Level (requires more conditioning/training)
*_25 Mile CTR_*=First/Second Level (more conditioning/more finesse)
*_25 +Mile LD_*=Third Level (more conditioning and even more finesse)
_*50 Mile*_ = Fourth Level (Now we are really testing you)
*_75 Mile_*= Prix St. George
*_Multi Day Rides_* = Intermediate I
*_100 Mile multi-day rides_*= Intermediate II
and last but not least- the Holy Grail
*/_100 Miles 1 Day_= Grand Prix/*
*//* I get the thing with the runners and the marathon, Bruce, I really do~ they are all still runners though.....just as training level dressage horses are still dressage horses, and TO ME 25 mile LD horses are still Endurance horses....they are just at a different level of TRAINING~ and YES some horses in dressage never progress past second level- just like many Endurance horses never progress past 25 Miles.
