Re: [RC] [RC] Riding in NYC - Dyane SmithOddly enough, some horses are frightened of one kind of bridge and not of another. My horse took to a swinging bridge (not at Tevis) with no problem at all. On the other hand, a more stable bridge that was not as open or as wide frightened him much more. It's possible that he felt claustrophobic on the second bridge (with high woven wire sides) or just that his first time across the swinging bridge, he was accompanied by a group of other horses that were used to it. Still, Betsy, I think you did the right thing not to push a lot with the freeway bridge. I sure wouldn't want to be in a cart with a terrified horse.
