You need to work on building up your “core”
(abdominal muscles) and then use those to post instead of depending on your
lower back when posting. Sounds like you’re stressing your illeo-sacral
ligament. I’d find a physical therapist that understands riding to help you
stretch out any bound up muscles and then start strengthening your “core”.
Then, when you post, try tensing your stomach muscles with each up and down (as
if you’re doing crunches, with someone pulling your belly button forward, not
upward). Make sure your posture is good and you’re not posting forward, but
upward.

problem..........
I have started riding more........and posting more
........to build up my legs for an endurance vacation in June. In the
last two weeks I started experiencing some hip pain in my left hip (I am right
handed if that makes a difference). Its at the very top of my hip bone
towards my back. It feels like when you get a deep bruise and hurts the
most when I get out of bed or stand up after setting for a while.
Any clues what might be going on?
Mickey
