After Sonny getting rubs from the Epic’s
gaiters last season, even through the roll of vetwrap
around each pastern, he was shod for his first ride, a 50. The shoes have been
removed since then, and I’m pleased to say that on the 3 10-15 mile rides
we’ve done since the shoes came off, the gaiters have not caused any
rubs, and I only used a half roll of vetrap. I wonder
if it’s all the extra winter hair that’s providing the protection?
