It's only scheduled from 8-10pm.  I don't know if they will have room 
for dancing or not, but it still won't have the same "mixer" mingling 
that the dance has always had.  Lots of people who didn't dance went 
there just to mingle, talk and enjoy the camaraderie.

I didn't make the Convention last year, but two years ago we ended up 
dancing on the tables (as usual) and I got my picture in Endurance News 
-- although the caption said "Vonita Bowers and friend."  We finished up 
with a huge conga line.

AMEN!!!  But that's the whole point.  The dance has always provided the 
best opportunity to do that, more even than the receptions at the 
awards.  A concert is simply not going to provide that same level of 
opportunity.  And a dance doesn't have to mean DJ and recorded music, 
live bands are great.

I don't expect to be there.  I can go to a concert any time, but I don't 
often have an opportunity to play Nevada poker, so without the dance 
I'll be playing poker somewhere Friday night (unless I'm out with an 
impromptu party).
