else one whit--all it does is provide a flimsy physical barrier to the
breeding process that can easily rip away and doesn't always rip along
the scar, therefore it actually endangers the filly in such a
circumstance, if anything. And as I mentioned earlier, once you
start suturing a mare, you greatly increase the chance that you will
have to do so throughout her entire reproductive life, as you have
permanently altered the lips of the vulva and the natural "seal" that
exists if the filly/mare has normal pelvic conformation.
