My grandmother on my dad's side was from St. Louis, MO. My Grandfather on my dad's side was from Germany (so you were right on the name). On my mother's side the family has been in Brazil for many generations, with mostly Portuguese origins. I moved to Lawrenceville, GA 6 years ago, so now I call Georgia home. I started endurance vetting back in 1989 in Brazil, and riding in 1991. My horse (Tomiran) also came from Brazil, since we had many miles together there... Now we are looking for a barn close to trails here in GA, so that we can train more in the little time I have available. I'm a DVM, also in Georgia, working for an animal health company. I used to be an equine practitioner and my own boss before I joined the company. I find that although I am not in charge of my time anymore, there are benefits in being able to plan vacation days without worrying who is going to cover for me if one of my clients have an emergency. I still don't have time to do many rides, since the most part of my free time is dedicated to my 2 boys (6 and 10 years old) and my wife. They crewed for me this year at the Biltmore States ride, but many times I rode without a crew. I am an Urban Planner for a University town in Georgia. Hmmm, wonder which town that could be???? I get close to two weeks vacation a year so that is hoarded for horsey activities. I can also flex out any time that I use for evening meetings so that helps! I have my degree in Landscape Architecture. I am working on becoming a registered LA with my state so I can actually practice. I do some little design/build jobs and consulting work for mad money (goes straight to the horses).
