Re: [RC] Help!!! Horse not growing!!! - Tiffany D'Virgilio

One of my mares is tiny too. I'm 5'9" and rode her weighing anywhere between 150 and 180, plus a Synergist. She never had a problem and is a stronger horse than my other mare. Mosh is about 14.2 and 750 pounds on her fattest day. She has done 50's with no problem.?

Are you sure that's too small?? I'm 5'9 and used to regularly ride a 14h mare (about 700 lbs) when I weighed 150 -160.?Even my dad at 6'3, 200lbs used to ride her and she never took a lame step in her life.? Never had any back problems either.

I have a 2 y. 9 mo. Arab filly that measures 13.2 3/4 and is extremely
fine boned. I used the weight tape to guess what she weighs and she
measures in at 600 lbs. and has 6 in. cannon bones. She is
well-proportioned and isn't too thin-- she's just tiny. She also has
very small feet that really haven't gotten bigger. I did notice that
her ribcage grew some and her bones did fill out a bit over the summer
and the fall, but I'm worried she's just go! ing to be too small for me.
I'm 5'3", 110, but am worried that I am still too large for her. I
was planning on using her for trail/endurance but I'm afraid she's
going to be too small-boned to hold up to the task. I know horses
vary tremendously-- but she needs to have a serious growth spurt for
me to be able to ride her (perfect size horse for me is my mustang/tb
mare- 14.2, 875 lbs. and medium amount of bone). Just wanted to know
if any of you more experienced endurance and Arab people on the list
think she might get big enough.
Additionally, her mom is pure Russian (14.3) and father is
Egyptian/crabbet and I was told was 15.2 but I've never seen him.
