[RC] Juniors our future--juniors, horses, and liability - Sharlene Roberts-CaudleContinuing the juniors, pony club, extra horses, liability thread, PC has a new program it's adopted from UK called "Pony Club Riding Centers." It's just beginning and they're going to see how it works out. Usually it will be a business enterprise, say a stable, who wants to offer something more to their kids. Approval of the facility as a PC Riding Center will create a new Pony Club that is run by the Riding Center Administrator instead of a DC and sponsors. The Center Administrator can hire an instructor, even a C-rated member of another Pony Club etc., to give the mounted instruction. During the time of the PC activity, the Pony Club insurance is in effect. You are correct that there are a lot of rules in Pony Club. There are actually a lot of girls who eat this up--these are the over acheivers, the ones who make their families crazy unless they have an outlet for their obsessions. Others just put up with the rules in order to enjoy the friendships and the goals. It is an organization that is focused on safety for horse and rider first, and second on fun! Remember, Michele Roush, 2005 Tevis Haggin Cup winner, DVM, and great person, got her start in Pony Club! =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
