Re: [RC] Sundowner Trailer - Diane TrefethenI have a 1996 Sundowner 3 horse LQ trailer. It seems every time I want to use it the breaks don't work. I have checked fuses, had the wiring fixed, change the break controller, now what else could be making the breaks iffy. Many years ago my friend had the brakes on her trailer worked on and for several weeks thereafter those brakes were, as you put it, iffy. She had taken the trailer back to her mechanic who had looked it over and said nothing was wrong. The last straw was trailering down to the Fireworks, pulling off Hwy 17 at the Graham Hill exit and almost taking out all the signage. Monday morning she went in and demanded that the brakes be completely replaced. When the mechanic removed the wheels, it turned out that one little part had been put in backwards (or upside down - I am NOT a mechanic so I don't know the name of the part in question). Reversing it was all it took to "fix" the brakes. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
