Re: [RC] Ride names - Lynne GlazerMy two: I was talking with Julie Herrera, trying to come up with an interesting name for a new ride based next to the Santa Ana river, something halfway fun or funny, talked about how fun it is to ride through the "twisties", stands of arundo which resemble bamboo. It was the era of "Riverdance", and that was probably the 2nd thing to pop into my mind. Norco Riverdance ran for 5 years, and we played a Celtic music mix as a wakeup call, the first song was Altan's "An Grianan" (Horse With A Heart).Bar H Boogie came from the name of the ranch, owner/rider Chris Herron named that ride. We had a "Rat Fink" type logo created, and woke everyone up to a rockabilly mix, starting with "Boogie" by Professor Longhair. Waking folks up to crescendoed music at 4:30 am is fine sport for a ride manager! Having a full mixing board and a pro (Ken Herrera) to operate it was always a plus as we desperately tried to have enough coffee and hot water ready--who wants to get up early enough to start the pots? oh. Timers. That would've been smart...but one ride ran off of generator, people would have hated that noise that early...yeah, yeah, we did frilly rides.
