[RC] Juniors-our future - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: Buddy Gleason glea6826@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== This past Saturday I had the enjoyment of riding at Dawson Forest, close to Atlanta, Ga. The location of the GERA, Georgia Endurance Riders Association, fundraiser ride. There were four of us riding together. One older adult, me. Another adult. Then, a mother and her 12 year old daughter. The 12 year old daughter was riding a well known endurance horse named TIMEX. This horse was previously owned by Ann Cofield of Buford, Georgia. She is on AERC's Educational Committee and has sponsored several AERC rides. This horse carried her junior rider on a well covered 20 mile ride. Timex has successfully completed many endurance rides. Now, this mare is still going strong carrying her junior into the future of endurance riding. This is one way of helping to ensure AERC's future. Endurance riders passing along their well loved horses to juniors. Way to go Ann. Timex was out front for the entire 20 miles and looking good. Had there been a vet check and trot out, the score would have been all A's and fit to continue.
