[RC] Ride Fees& Drug Test - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: jean wonser jean539@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== Please respond to request of Vet Committee AERC in Endurance News, Jan. page 37; It is under consideration to raise sanctioning fees $5. for a more expensive drug test. The drug test used presently will detect minute drugs and is certainly good to protect the horse. I disagree about using a more expensive test simply for the cost required. If I need to treat a horse within the withdrawl period I can enter a different mount. (another reason most serious riders have several) The cost of fuel has most of my ride buddies seriously looking at which rides to enter in FL. In addition I would like to see Managers separate non essential items from the entry fee (such as food) Expensive prizes that are unsponsored truly should be reconsidered too. A spin off problem is if you do not enter the backyard rides they may be lost entirely with unability to break even. Please contact the vet committee vis the chair Melissa Ribley: mribley atmsn.com Thanks for all of us on limited budgets.
