I'd be curious on rides like Tevis, that is indeed
often the only 100 some riders do, how many never do it again, after they finish
it. I know I can't wait to ride it again, yet have no desire to do any local
100's. I know the list of finishers has many names with just one year
listed next to their name for "years completed", but it does not show the years
they might have tried it before they completed it. But, I will also admit, in my
2 non-finish attempts, and then one completion, I never had a time out there
that I felt truly miserable or questioned WHY I was doing the ride. For someone
who is not really that physically fit, I felt pretty good on all 3 attempts, and
also did not have any serious horse issues either. (2 pulls for lameness, 16
years apart, different horses)
