Re: [RC] Blackwater Boogie Now cold..........:-) - Truman PrevattFolks I've slept in a down sleeping bag in a snow cave in CO in Feb and was warm. I've slept in uninsulated cabin at the top of Brown's pass at about 12,000 feet in CO in Feb in my down bad and was very comfy. If you are cold get a good down bag and as Angie points out a piece of closed cell foam to lay on and you will be quite warm. People climb Mt. Everest sleeping in a sleeping bag in a tent, duh - it can be done. It's not rocket science - the material is out there to keep you warm and they cost a fraction of a generator, don't pollute the air we breath keep someone awake at night and I've never heard of a fist fight breaking out over a noisy down sleeping bad ;-) . If you "must have heat" a couple deep cycle batteries in parallel will power your DC furnace all night long. (OK, there was a nother cheapo on top of it but the two of them were WARM!) Make sure you put something like an insulite closed cell foam pad underneath your bed to keep out the cold that comes up from below. -- "Life is about obstacles.
