Subtopics include spreading weight over the greatest possible surface area (newer high tech pads can help with that), those which put you in a neutral place so that you aren't working to hard to post or stay balanced, etc. The "endurance type" can be either english endurance or western endurance. The treeless saddles can be either category. Then there are "flex panel" saddles which can be pure English, pure Western or endurance.
