We never kept shoes on our horses in the
winter, and a litttle would build up, but as you rode, it would get knocked out,
just as Louise indicated.

We, too, got the storm. If
you watch, the ice balls don't last very long in their hooves. I learned
on an endurance ride where we got caught unawares in 4 inches of snow the
morning of the ride, that if you keep up a trot or canter, the snow doesn't ball
up. So, I had a great gallop on my horse Friday in the snow, but she had a
lot of trouble when we had to walk.
