Re: [RC] Horse size....what gives?!?! - KrisI agree. My first horse, who i still have, is 14.1, and when i started LDs, i was a solid heavy weight. She seems no worse for the wear and is well on her way to our first 100 sometime this season. For my next horse, i thought it might be fun to buy something a little bit bigger, and a yearling TWH just kinda fell into my hands. How exciting - his dam was 17.1 and his sire 16.2. once he hit three and was still shooting up like a weed and i had to get ON him, i began to think large may not have been the best idea. At 4.5 years, he's 16.1 and still going i'm afraid - i've been begging him to stop growing since he hit 15 hands! My third horse is 15.1, but carries himself like he's about 18 hands, and has an unbelievable stride, but i still think i'd like something a little shorter. Besides, that's 8 inches less to fall when you get dumped - who WOULDN'T want that??
