rescued-URGENT
Hi All, I usually just lurk on here, but need to
get this out to as many folks as possible and am hoping the FOV gang can
come through.
Looking for someone in the Delaware/Maryland area
that would be willing to take a chance on a 5 year old Morgan gelding who
is more than likely going to be sent to the New Holland, PA auction next
Monday where there would be a good chance he will go to the
killers.
His story as I know it is this, his owner/breeder sent him to
a trainer for driving (don't know who the trainer was). When he came back the
owner couldn't handle him and has now gotten disgusted and just wants to
unload him. My niece's boyfriend's Mom, Cindy has him right now.she has 4
Clydesdales she drives and she knows the owner of the Morgan, talked him into
letting her take him for awhile to see what she could do with him. I saw
him a couple weeks ago when I was visiting my niece, he is a red chestnut
with a blaze and hind socks. I would guess him to about 15h. Type
wise, he's probably middle of the road, not old type, but not real refined
either. He is a good looking boy. Cindy has driven him a couple times, she
said he drove fine the first time, the second time he tried cutting up but
she kept after him and he gave it up and drove like he was supposed to. She
is not a rider but did hop up on him and ride him around the field
without any problems. Her opinion is that he found out somewhere along the
line that if he didn't want to do something, if he acted up he got put away.
He's not getting away with that with Cindy and she says he been coming
along nicely for her.
Things apparently came to a head yesterday, his
owner came back from a trip doesn't want to wait any longer. He told Cindy
if she can find a buyer for him in the next couple days fine...otherwise he's
going to the sale. He wants $800 for him. I should know his breeding
tomorrow. Cindy can't buy him or keep him, she's having a hard time feeding
the Clydes with the price of hay. Also she doesn't really have a place
to put him. Her horses live out with run in sheds, she can't put him with
them, they beat him up. Now the pen she had him in has flooded with all the
rain they have had and he's standing in mud.
Cindy is really upset
over this, she really likes him, says he has a sweet personality and just
needs to learn he can't always have his way. She said he is teachable, he
has improved since he's been with her.
I don't have a place of my own or
I would take a chance on him myself. I board Cappy and I can't afford to
board two horses and even if I could the farm where Cappy is doesn't have any
openings.
If anyone is interested or know anyone who might
be interested in him please let me know asap.
